Saturday is looking beautiful for the Luke Bryan concert, but make sure you know the rules to avoid any frustrations

It's been a few years (thanks to the pandemic) but the Y-Live concert series returns to downtown Youngstown this Saturday, July 16, with a new location.

"Finally, it's happening after two years and 24 months and we're just excited to put on this show for the people of the Mahoning Valley," Eric Ryan, JACLIVE and JAC Management, "We're expecting a lot of people and we're expecting to break the downtown Youngstown crowd for the most amount of people ever assembled in downtown Youngstown."

The Y-Live 2022 moves to Wean Park, which is located between the Covelli Centre and the Market Street Bridge, for Saturday, July 16's big concert featuring Luke Bryan, who has won numerous Country Music Association Awards, including entertainer of the year in 2013 and album of the decade in 2019.

Special guests for the evening include Riley Green, a country music singer/songwriter who broke through with the 2018 hit "There Was This Girl" and Mitchell Tenpenny, a country-pop singer/songwriter from Nashville.

But before you go, here are some important things to know:

1. The Weather: The forecast is calling for it to be a BEAUTIFUL day. Stay up-to-date with the forecast online at wfmj.com/weather

2. The Time: Gates open at 5 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m.

3. Parking: Opens at 4 p.m., and day of parking will be located at YSU. Use the Madison Avenue Expressway (US Route 422) to the Wick Avenue exit and go the Wick Ave. Parking Deck. Members of the YSU police department will direct you to available parking spaces on the campus. Once parked you can either walk to the venue or there will be a shuttle service available from 3:30 pm until midnight. The shuttle will pick up and drop you off at 410 N Walnut St. If you are getting a ride to the show, use45 South Ave. for your Uber/Lyft destination. Additionally, the Central YMCA in downtown Youngstown will be offering a limited amount of parking. Parking opens at 2:00 p.m. and will cost $15 per vehicle. There are also other downtown parking facilities around the city.

YSU does not allow tailgating on campus.

The South Avenue and Market Street bridges will both be closed to all traffic the night of the concert starting at 6:45 p.m.

The DeYor Performing Arts Center will offer parking for concert attendees on Saturday, in the parking lots on W. Commerce Street, located just north and east of the DeYor Performing Arts Center. The $10 parking fee will help support programming and performances for your local non-profit performing arts organizations. The parking is located at 201 W. Commerce St. The lots will open at 4:30pm.

Any prepaid parking that was purchased through Ticketmaster is now sold out for Saturday's event.

4. Can I take a bag? Only clear and see-through bagsno larger than 12” x 12” x 6” andclutches no larger than 6.5”x 4.5”x 1” will bepermitted. Exceptions may be made for medical bags or diaper bags.

5. Things you can't bring:

  • Pursesthat do not meet bag policy requirements
  • Briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs,winch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags,camera bags, binocular cases, wallet chains
  • Professional cameras
  • Coolers, seat cushions, Umbrellas, Strollers, and Laser pointers
  • Food and beverages of any kind
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Any animal with the exception of a service animal
  • Items deemed inappropriate by thevenue
  • Recording devices such as tablets, laptops, and go pros

6. Lawn chair guidelines: A lawn chair with seat no higher than 16 inches off the ground with a back no higher than 36 inches total height can be brought to the event. A standard beach chair is recommended. No plastic, wooden, folding chairs or any other style of chair will be permitted. The bags/cases that some of these chairs come in will not be permitted into the facility. No tents, obstructive canopies or umbrellas of any kind will be allowed into the facility. All chairs will be checked at security upon entry.

7. The concert tickets:

Ticket prices vary from $48 to more than $200. Some tickets are still available for the show.

  • Mobile ticket holders: Add your tickets to your Apple Wallet or Android Passbook before coming to the event. Take a screenshot of your ticket with its barcode as a backup. Have the ticket pulled up on your phone before getting in line.
  • Physical Ticket Holders: Please have your ticket in hand before getting in line.
  • Will Call: Available at the Southwoods Health Box located in the Covelli Centre.

8. Other suggestions: Bring cash to the show to minimize wait times in concession and merchandise lines and arrive early.

Previous Y-Live concerts which started in 2017 have included the Zac Brown Band, followed in 2018 by Florida Georgia Line, and 2019 was country star Blake Shelton, all previous concerts were at Stambaugh Stadium.
