Final Fantasy 14 can be a joy for players who like to collect items, as much as it is for those who enjoy battling amazing enemies or those who simply want their Warrior of Light to look cool and to have nice mounts. When it comes to the latter, many of those items can be unlocked, though they can be rewards for limited-time-only events, demand the completion of challenging content, or require a certain level before they are available, leaving beginners without as many things they can try to get.
The unicorn mount is an exception to that, being available well before players complete A Realm Reborn. A nice alternative to the Grand Company Chocobos, this is a nice-looking mount similar in shape to those rewarded by ARR's Extreme Trials, despite not having the same visual effects. Unicorn Mount Requirements
The essential requirement to be able to get the unicorn mount is simply to level up the Conjurer class. This mount is unique among the other unlockable ones currently in the game, as it's the only one that can be obtained exclusively through leveling a specific class or job and completing a quest.
While the player will have to level up the Conjurer class up to level 30, it isn't necessary to start the game as a Conjurer for the mount to be available. Because Final Fantasy 14's system allows players to have every class and job in a single character, as well as to switch between them at will, all it takes for a player to meet the requirement for this mount is to pick up the class and level it up to level 30.
For those who did not begin as Conjurers, the quest to unlock the class can be found in Old Gridania, at the Conjurer's Guild, by talking to Madelle (X: 6.5, Y: 11.0). While this process can take some time, it isn't too lengthy, and can likely be completed in five or six hours with the buff gained from having a max level job.
If you're playing as a White Mage, you will have met the requirements, as the job is unlocked through leveling up the Conjurer class, but the quest won't be available to a WHM. This doesn't mean players will be locked out of getting the mount, though, as classes remain accessible after a job is unlocked. Because this is exclusively a Conjurer's quest, it will simply be necessary to remove your job crystal. Once that is done and the game recognizes your class as Conjurer, you will be able to pick up the quest and complete it, as long as you don't go back to WHM.
Other than getting Conjurer to level 30, the only other requirement is to complete the level 30 class quest, "In Nature's Embrace" - the last quest before the one that unlocks White Mage. It can be picked up with Brother E-Sumi-Yan (X: 6.0, Y: 10.6) at the Conjurer's Guild in Old Gridania.
How To Complete Unicorn Power In Final Fantasy 14
Once the adventurer levels the Conjurer class up to level 30 and has completed "In Nature's Embrace", the quest "unicorn Power" will be available. It will be marked with a simple sidequest symbol instead of a content unlock symbol, so it can be easy to miss. The NPC the player needs to talk to is Braya, the one seen above.
She will be inside the Conjurer's Guild (X: 6.3, Y:11.0), and when the player talks to her, she will ask for help with healing a wounded beast. The adventurer will then be sent to Fallgourd Float in the North Shroud to look for this unusual creature, and should head to the southwest of the map. There, an Injured Mare (X: 16.5, Y: 30.9) can be found.
The next step is to aid the wounded creature. To do so, all it takes is to cast Cure on it. The mare will be healed, and upon returning to report to Braya, she will explain that, based on your description, there is no mistaking that the creature was a unicorn. After adding that it is a rare thing for a unicorn to bond with a person, she will reward the player with the Unicorn Whistle, the item necessary to acquire the mount. As usual, the item will be sent to the player's inventory, and the player must use the whistle to add the unicorn to the mount collection.
Although the unicorn mount can only be unlocked by Conjurers, once it is added to the collection, the player can always use it, regardless of the job or class they have equipped at the time.
